The device also includes a setpoint potentiometer 23 for manually controlling the movements of the transverse carriage. The device works as follows. The controlled part (a worm to or a worm cutter) is clamped between the spindle 3 and the rear center 5. The guitar 11 gears of the synchronization mechanism for moving the longitudinal carriage are adjusted to the specified axial pitch P of the controlled worm (Fig. 2). The rotary block 12 of the transverse carriage guide is rotated by the Uprofil angle of the thread, the angle of rotation is marked along limb 13. Then the measuring tip of the measuring head 15 is brought into contact with the profile of the monitored thread at the beginning of the working section of the profile (point A in Fig. 2). This completes the preparation for the measurement. To perform the measurements, the spindle drive motor 6 is turned on, the part to be monitored comes into rotation, and the longitudinal carriage 9 moves with a predetermined pitch of the screw movement due to the transfer of motion through the guitar 11 and the screw propeller 10. In order to measure the main pitch, so that the transverse carriage 1k moves along the side of the thread profile at a speed V sin, where V is the speed of axial movement of the longitudinal carriage. The movements of the longitudinal and transverse carriages are synchronized by a proportional amplifier 22, the inputs of which are connected to tachogenerators 18 and 21, are connected respectively to the screw drivers of the longitudinal and transverse carriages, and the tachogenerator 21 is connected to the proportional amplifier directly, and the tachogenerator 18 is connected via a sinus potentiometer 20 (and, if necessary, intermediate amplifier 19), which ensures the input to the input of a proportional amplifier signal V, sin. The proportional amplifier feeds the adjustable motor 17 so that the ratio V is maintained, i.e. synchronization needed.
The sine potentiometer 20 is kinematically connected with the rotary block 12 of the transverse carriage guides 12, which simplifies adjustment because when the desired position of the transverse carriage is set (J, the necessary proportionality factor () is automatically set).
The proportional amplifier 22 is four-quadrant. It can work with any polarity of incoming signals and allow reversal of both rotation and load. With this design, it is possible to perform measurements both with the right and with the left rotation of the object being monitored without any changeover.
